When any objective observer analyzes the history of every component part of the New Orleans Saints franchise, he reaches the conclusion that the Saints were fortunate to have even one Superbowl Lombardi Trophy.

Why? Because this franchise has never had superlative and championship-sustaining talent, work-product, continuity and stability within ALL components of an NFL franchise. The components are not limited to these: front office, general manager, owner, head coach, player-personnel acquisition and disposition, coordinator of offense, coordinator of defense, strength and conditioning.

These are all very important component parts. It is arguable that the Saints have NEVER, even for one single season, have achieved superlative work product from ALL of these component parts of the franchise.

That's why the 2009 Championship season is so special.

We should have won the SB in 2011 and 2018 seasons.

Or at least gone to one more. This group has underachieved fairly significantly. We’re all grateful for the 1 that we got, but the only 2 seasons the Saints achieved success in line with their talent was 2006 and 2009. That’s frustrating.
