No it’s not.
I’m a descendant of the Hardin clan in Kentucky. Have a 1st cousin 6 times removed that was a brother in law to Abraham Lincoln.
Not descended from Benjamin Hardin Helm though. He was a grandmother’s 1st cousin.

Our foreign adversaries are smiling.
Good job, Filth.

The “great nephew” of REL isn’t a great nephew.
His last name is Lee so we can assume he is a descendant of one of the two brothers REL had that lived long enough to have children.
One was born in 1787, the other in 1802.
To be a great-nephew of REL, he would have to have a grandad born 217 years ago or 231 years ago.

You are only a descendant of your parents and grandparents.

Students at Washington and Lee University want the option of receiving a diploma without the portraits of the university's namesakes: George Washington and Robert E. Lee.
I don't care as long as its an option and they aren't forcing its removal on all diplomas

It's a shame that those people want to write Lee out of history, as if there is nothing to learn from the man's life.
As most of us here probably know, he was a man of honor and humility. His views about the nation healing after the Civil War were not what the uninformed would expect.
You NAILED it, sir. Well done.

You leftist freaks are the ones wanting statues removed, names of streets and building changed, portraits removed, etc.
Why don't you get over it?

So you think revising history is the way to get over past wrongs?

They are as bad as those damn Nazi's who burned the books, or ISIS who destroyed all of those religious sites/items.
Remove all items of history that doesn't promote your beliefs and replace them with their symbols and start re-educating the masses.

Total loser. Filthy buttfricking traitor whore. I'll be glad to teach your wife non-revisionist history while I flick her bean and ring her bell.

Um...the university doesn't bear his name because of anything he did in the Civil War.

The university is called Washington & Lee. It has nothing to do with the Civil War. Robert E. Lee was the president of that university for a time.

Lee introduced the honor code to W&L that they still use. Do they want to replace that also?
