Look at all their players splits in the 2017 championship run, its egregious.
Without looking at the splits, the Astros were a MUCH better team on the road in ‘17. So much so, i remember dreading home series with good teams.

Jose Altuve hit a game winning bomb off Aroldis Chapman in game 6 of the 2019 ALCS, you think he is able to do this if hes not cheating?
Are you serious? Really serious with this? Altuve is only one of the best players in the game and to think that stealing signs is the ONLY reason he’s one of the best hitters to ever play the game is ridiculous and you’re just here to magnify your faux outrage. Give me a fricking break.

I was rather referring to Aroldis Chapman being one of the best closers in the game chief...you honestly dont think knowing a guy who throws 100+ is throwing offspeed wont give him an advantage? GTFOOH

Or Altuve recognized that Chapman was not throwing his fastballs with much command that night and was locating his slider well enough that he needed it to stay in counts.
IIRC it was a 2-1 count which put Altuve in the drivers seat and he could pick which pitch he wanted to eliminate and guessed he wouldn’t throw a fastball to risk going 3-1 and sat slider bc he’s a savvy fricking hitter and punished a mistake.
But carry on with the buzzer narrative and don’t look at what happens in context bc it might not fit for you.

LOL yeah he's such a savvy hitter when he knows what pitch is coming. Your logic is hilarious

Based on your logic how does anyone ever get a hit in the MLB bc OMG THROWS 100 MPH
Posted on 1/20/20 at 5:50 pm to msutiger
I'll say punches get thrown 2-3 times, but there could be numerous times in division and vs the Indians/Yankees where talking about it causes the benches to empty but nothing happens.

Well, my logic says the entire team, coaches, management and camera operators were working together to steal signs and relay them to players (this is proven), so it was likely they were doing it in the biggest spot of the year. Why would I take their word for anything other than shite?
Posted on 1/20/20 at 6:03 pm to hubertcumberdale
No one is asking you to take their word bro.
I was simply trying to provide a more logical explanation on how an elite hitter can hit a homer off a really good pitcher. Definitely not saying that there wasn’t systematic organization wide cheating in 2017-2018, but until there is some shred of legitimate evidence of them doing this in the 2019 postseason, which id imagine was heavily policed by MLB officials, I’m allowed to take their word because I can.
ETA: if info does come out about them cheating during the 2019 season and postseason I’ll come back here and eat crow and be even more disappointed at the stupidity of the organization.

Ken Rosenthal definitely knew something was up

ETA: If they were cheating during 2017 and 2018 why would they just stop in 2019? They were 60-21 at home in 2019, come on now...

Am I supposed to be shocked that a very good team wins more games at home than on the road? Because I’m just not and I don’t think that really proves anything

ETA: great to see my boy Joey like this post.

Well they could only cheat at home and won 75% of their home games
Posted on 1/20/20 at 6:51 pm to hubertcumberdale
The two years before they won more games on the road.
Won 5 more games on the road in 17
Won 11 more games on the road in 18
I mean the wins have to come from somewhere. More often than not teams are better at home so it could have been a regression to the mean. It’s not evidence of anything.

Maybe they started cheating in the 2017 postseason and perfected it by 2019 with the advent of buzzer technology?

maybe man. Maybe.
I’ve seen those numbers ad nauseam and they got busted for stealing signs during those playoffs. Never once argued that point with you

He acted goofy and modest just like he’s acted in every single interview he’s ever done at the big league level. BUZZERS.
Again if it comes out that it’s true I’ll eat crow. This shite is just grasping at straws

So your argument that they had more MLB oversight in the 2019 playoffs is BS (since you are admitting to cheating happening in 2017), specifically that Jose Altuve wasnt cheating which allowed him to hit the game winning HR off Aroldis Chapamn is BS
Posted on 1/20/20 at 7:08 pm to hubertcumberdale
MLB started monitoring replay rooms in the postseason in 2018 so yea no that doesn’t make my argument BS.
