Not surprising..
They call him the professor but, damnit, sometimes he seems to over analyze.

After the changes Clemson got squat and Mr. Ed was confused

Clemson’s first few possessions were in plus territory... hard to gain anything from what we were calling on defense during those times.

It kinda helped the Clemson offense that they were starting their drives around midfield.

He has always been like this. It usually takes 2 or 3 scores by the opponents for him to adjust. In Texas A&M case it took him a year !!! Besides LSU defense has been as good if not better than Aranda defense in the last 20 years .

Their first TD drive was 67 yards. Their second TD drive was 96 yards on 4 plays.

Aranda said this himself. He said with such a long time to plan, it's natural to overplan.

IDK what adjustments and when but the 2nd half was a thing of defensive beauty. A masterpiece.

I doubt it.

The big change was our OLB stopped biting to the middle on the edge rushes (our DL was controlling the middle even when Clemson made some gains) and Queen spied Travis E.

That was basically it.

And they started the game at their own 25 yard line.

I was surprised our defensive players looked so confused in trying to get lined up in the first half. We routinely had defenders moving each other around right before the snap, many times on the opposite side of the formation.

So it makes sense that we simplified what we were trying to do and just let the players get after it.

I read your post and get the impression that defensive adjustments are a bad thing because Aranda initially got it wrong.

This is actually a sign of a good coach.

When Aranda made adjustments the results were our OLBs setting the edge, containing Travis E. and making TL throw on the run which resulted in inaccurate throws.

Obviously that job was assigned to Queen. Those 2.5 quarters by Queen made him a lot of money.
