Dallas is extremely liberal. They don't prosecute theft there.

Yes they do. But you are correct that Dallas proper is liberal just like all other big cities.

And lake Highlands is a very desirable neighborhood. There are some areas around Abrams and 635 that are bad and the 5 Points area around Park lane and Greenville is really bad. But if you are buying a house and paying $500k and up, which is the going price in lake Highlands, then you'll be fine. I have lots of friends that live over there because it used to be affordable, close in and good schools. Its not so affordable now.
