make a raspberry pi emulator. you can get all your game from different consoles on one system. i think there was a detailed thread on here at one point about it

Cool, I could do that. Anyone have any site recommendations to download the game ROM files from?
I searched for the thread but didnt come up with anything.

If you are lazy like me and dont want to go through the time or risk viruses putting together your own systems and gathering roms.... there is lots of modded system on ebay or etsy. I got one of these a few months ago and love it. I have a Nes Classic with around 900 games a Super Nes Classic with only a few hundred and the PS1 with around 8000. The PS1 Classic is probably the best buy.

You can play certain NES/SNES games on a Switch for $20/year.

I didn't say "all". I said "certain". But they do have a lot of the big titles on there and they add more every few months.

Yea, sorry.
I wouldn't even say certain, even though correct, "extremely limited" is more correct.
The selection isn't much of a selection . It's missing a ton of NES titles most of us grew up on. Yeah they have the big hitters, but why spend $20 bucks a year for some when you can have the entire library for $20 bucks, for life?

It does have some good features like being able to have multiple save slots for each game and able to "rewind" your play if you frick up and just need to go back 10 seconds or 2 minutes.
You can also play games with a friend if that's something you're into.
However, the $20 doesn't just get you those games. The price is for Nintendo online. The NES/SNES games are just a small part of it.

If you don't like the "cheat" features. Still not worth it.
You get much more, including everything you named with a Pi.
I've had the service since launch for Cloud Saves. It's a nice addition(NES/SNES arcade) but in no way a sale point IMO.

Yes.

Depends on what else you're looking for. You can get discounts on switch games. If you plan to buy a few games anyway, then it quickly pays for itself.

Now that is cool!
I would love to test! Will come back and post my ID, if it's not in the sticked thread up top.

I'm not saying do not "get".
You are trying to sell me a service, I'm trying to give this guy a "better" option.

Tetris 99 is also a fun game that is a free download with Nintendo Online.

I'm not really trying to sell it. Just saying it's a very good option that comes with other benefits.

You can do this on the pi by hosting a netplay game
