You won’t get flu caused by the strains that are included in the vaccine. There are many strains of influenza circulating at all times and you can pick one up if you’re unlucky. She may have still gotten the flu, but she would have already had built up anti-bodies to fight the illness. She would have had a much more mild experience having the flu. Get the vaccine. Listen to the professionals.
