quote:Truth.
This didn't start with Trump. It started with Obama.
I mean, Obama was worshipped like a religious figure by the Democratic Party and its supporters.
Children were taught songs to sing for their insane parents about how Obama was the great savior.

It was worship akin to religious veneration.
Trump has his sycophants, but, IMO, the majority of those who call him the God Emperor are doing it because it annoys the other side.
I also find the GEOTUS thing hilarious too.
The fact that some city in Italy built a massive Trump in the God Emperor armor from Warhammer 40k as a float for a parade is fricking amazing.
Trump has those who praise him at all turns, but I don’t think it comes close to the essentially “religious worship” that Obama’s supporters seemed to push.

Right. And now it's happening again by the same people that made fun of it.

Well yeah the GEOTUS is just people online being silly

No. I do think that he has a much larger core group of "true believers" but I don't think they're as ridiculous as the ones teaching children songs that you alluded to.
Bigger in numbers, slightly less crazy, and every bit as stupid.

quote:Certainly true, but I can think of nothing bearing a closer resemblance to a Trump rally than a Billy Graham revival.
