Right 90% of games on Saturdays are complete shite

I like the atmosphere, energy and tradition of College Football. I also like to follow a player's progress and hope to see him get a shot at playing well for his school.
But I really LOVE the NFL. The "Any given Sunday" quote is so fricking true. It's also far more black and white. Teams don't pick their schedules and a win is a win and a loss is a loss. You can't load up your roster every year with a cap either. Your team can suck one year and go on a crazy run the next.

I prefer college due to the far wider variety in offensive and defensive systems. The NFL feels very bland and corporate with most teams running very similar looking strategies. The variety of CFB allows for far more shenanigans.
I also feel like the NFL’s rules are worse for the fan than cfb, and I prefer cfb’s wider hashmarks.
Outside of the targeting rules (which were much better this year), cfb is heads and shoulders above the nfl at officiating.
I also prefer the pageantry and traditions of cfb along with the crazy student sections. The NFL is just drunk upper middle class xers and boomers listening to piped in hip/hop.
The last decade has ruined the NFL as a viewing experience. It has hurt cfb in some ways too, but not nearly to the same extent.
Finally, the NFL is a dinosaur when it comes to selection of games to watch due to their regional coverage. I get damn near EVERY college game to pick from, so I can flip between the games that are relevant and competitive and not get stuck with the one blowout network television’s saddled me with.

What does that mean? They’re always going to be busts. Are you implying those days are over?

College football. NFL is unwatchable these days.

College. Every game matters. Lose and your possibly out of the playoffs. You can lose a handful of games in the NFL and still make it.
AND.... you can watch every college game without having to buy the games like NFL Ticket

I am also an idiot
My NFL team has played for a title twice.
my CFB has never been, and probably won't ever be
Yet I love CFB more

College by a comfortable margin

Id also say the nfl if the officials didnt decide most games and there werent 347 different penalties they could call. But ill go with college because its a better flow to the game. The downside is there are far fewer competitive games

I like college better because it's not so structured. The Saturdays during college gives you games all day long and gives you choices. On Sundays you are basically stuck with what the NFL gives you. I'm not paying to have access to all NFL games.

kids stay on the team at most 4-5 years
the good ones 2-3
Meaning their allegiance is for life and that is almost always the only college team they will ever play for in their lifetime. Obviously I know college kids have limited playing careers

As I’ve gotten older I’m starting to enjoy watching the NFL more.
No denying that being an Ole Miss fan is rough and can be hard lining up against bama and hoping to pull a miracle. But also SO many games are just so lopsided it’s just boring as shite.
The nfl is great to just sit around and watch good well played football.
So really I care more about CFB but enjoy watching NFL more overal.

10-15 years ago a guy with mediocre college stats but who had the "size" and "arm strength" to be "coached up" stood a better chance of going #1 than guys like Kyler Murray who were actually good football players in college even though they don't fit the NFL type. Lamar Jackson probably wouldn't have gone as high back then either. The NFL wasn't very innovative for the longest time, they started running the wildcat like 5 years after it make a resurgence in college lol. But recently teams like the Chiefs, Bears and Ravens have finally started using the RPO and adapting to modern concepts. At least to me it seems like teams drafting a QB have relied more on results than potential lately.

The NFL is a boring and bad product, especially with the bad officiating and sketchy outcomes. If not for the Saints I wouldn't watch 90% of the NFL games. Unless it's a really intriguing playoff match-up or the Saints I tune it out. Really only watched the Saints game and parts of the Texans game. Got a haircut during the Patriots game and didn't even watch the Seattle game. Even with college football a lot of the games have a huge talent gap between teams so a lot of the games suck.. The only difference is that it's a local product which has a little more meaning. Especially if you went to the school or are from the area, which makes it more fun.

Roster still has A LOT more changes every year than an NFL roster does

True, but you typically don’t see those guys playing for a “rival” next season.
I still watch the NFL, but with guys moving around as FA’s, getting cut as cap casualties and constant retread coaches, the NFL feels a little corporate and sterile to me.
