I wish Apple would initiate some sort of trade in or “recycling” program where you could send in original store bought DVDs with clamshell and all for a discount to add to their library. At least 50-75% off and I would do it.

You can do this with VUDU. If you have Movies Anywhere you can have most of the movies you've bought from VUDU, Apple, Google, Prime, or Fandango show up on all services. Not all movies can be converted and not all show up on all services but most of mine have. Blu-Ray to HDX or DVD to SD is $2 plus tax. DVD to HDX is $5 plus tax. Just scan the upc to see if the movie is available. It also works if you can find upc's online. It's easier and cheaper to just use torrents but if you don't want to do that try disc to digital.
