In 2008, Saints traded for Jon Vilma from the NYJ
In 2018, Saints signed Demario Davis from the NYJ
The following year, finished 13-3...Vilma won a SB.
- Vilma had 110 tackles, Davis had 111 tackles
In 2006, Saints drafted a WR Marques Colston
In 2016, Saints drafted a WR Mike Thomas
In 2009 and 2019 respectively, Colston and Thomas both secured 9 TD receptions. Both notching #33 and #32 on their career. Securing their place as #1 WRs on their team
In 2006, Saints drafted a SS in the 2nd round named Roman Harper
In 2016, Saints drafted a SS in the 2nd round named Vonn Bell
In 2009 and 2019, both had 1.5 sacks, 2 FFs, and 5 PDs in that year.
In 2007, Saints signed a "no name RB" Pierre Thomas.
In 2017, Saints traded up for a "small name RB" Alvin Kamra.
In 2009 and 2019, PT put up 793 rushing yards; in 2019 AK put up 797 rushing yards.
Both played 14 games that year
Both had a backup RB that rushed for 600+ yards as well
In 2009, Saints defense allowed 341 points
In 2019, Saints defense allowed 341 points
In 2009, New England was the 3 seed
In 2019, New England is the 3 seed
In 2009, Baltimore was playing with a 2nd year QB
In 2019, Baltimore is playing with a 2nd year QB
In 2009 and 2019, Saints ended their regular season @ Carolina. The losing team both scored only 10 points.
We just need some magic go our way.

Stop comparing shite to ‘09 .
This has to be the only fan base that consistently does this. shite is aggravating leave ‘09 in ‘09 this is ‘19. Let the ‘19-20 saints write their own chapter.

I agree. We have to be different than 2009 to be successful
We have to be better. This is a different team with a different challenge. We don’t need the number one seed for a magical run. Look at 2007 Giants, 2011 Giants, 2010 Packers, 2006 Colts as a 3 seed.
Will we have to catch some breaks? Yes. But our offense is peaking at the right time and our D is going to be healthier

Everyone always brings up our playoff road record stat which has no relevance to this years team so why cant he compare the 2 teams. None of it matters to what happens this year but was def fun to read. Great work

Biggest difference is #1 vs #3. Playing the extra game sucks.

Right on. Nobody should be getting mad about reading those stats.
