Obtuse1-

I can get a lightly used icw big pilot titanium or a new, no date sub. Both around same price.

I’m torn- what say you?

The IWC Big Pilot is a large watch, slightly over 46mm in diameter and the lug to lug is about 56mm. The originals were never meant to be worn on the wrist but over the sleeves of bomber jackets. Unless you have wrists closing in on 8" they tend to look out of place but a lot of people wear them with smaller wrists.

For most people, the IWC BP is an occasional watch not so much an everyday watch. If this is to be a mainstay watch I would go with the Sub if it is to have something different to wear but not every day I might go with the BP but only if it is a watch you really love.
