Dudes a monster and I know what Zion could be but maybe all that talk of his body type and injury concerns were warranted...

Nope..

Morant had the same surgery Zion had in the offseason..

It's nothing to do with his body type. Any other team and Zion is probably being forced back into action already, Griff and Co are jus being cautious

Yeah dude's a beast. Makes me laugh at all the threads to trade with Memphis for the #2 pick. There was no way Memphis was going to give up Morant.

Cautious is one thing. Overly cautious is another. He’s here to play basketball. If he’s healthy he should play. Just speaking as someone who spent a shite load on season tickets with the promise of Zion.

The other side of the coin is if he’s not healthy- is it because of setbacks or his body type putting too much strain on his legs? That’s personally why I’m starting to get Jealous watching Morant

Some teams place "healthy" at different levels..

80% to some is healthy enough to play and get them out there.. Some would be 90%..

Could Zion play right now? Probably.. But they will wait until he's 100% healthy, as they should

I’m not sure Zion could play right now. It looks like he can barely move on the pregame footage lol

his 20 and 10 soph year has only been done by him.

And he is a crowd pleaser.

I tried to say pick morant and clarke.

Zion has the higher upside.
Cant blame mgmt for rolling dice.

Im conservative in my drafting.
Morant and clarke will be solid until their bodies retire them.

Zion could be the explosive monster that no one can tame.

Dice were rolled.

People forget that on draft day Griff said he had predicted Pels would get the 2nd pick, not the first. Gives rise to a “what if” alt-history in which Pels get Morant instead of Zion but make same trade with Lakers for Davis.

My best case for that alternative reality is you pair Morant with Holiday, make the Same Atlanta deal, but draft Hayes and then Brandon Clarke to be Zion-lite in place of NAW. So your future front court is Ingram/Clarke/Hayes to go with Jah and Jrue. Exit Question: would you take that iteration of the Pels core over the one we got? Double bonus: in my day dream is we flipped Lonzo to the Suns for the 11th pick and took Tyler Herro...

yes.

Tyler herro - lonzo makes this version.

Not sold on hayes ever being more than he already is but all in all yes.

Hayes can dunk passes from morant.

You'd need a bigger body on the squad to deal with beefy 7' bigs.

If you swap the timing of their exact same surgeries they had to have, and Morant was the one currently not playing while Zion was, this thread would not exist. So no. I'm not jealous.

Could be true. Raises another interesting point: is there some question still about when Zion’s injury occurred? Griff has cryptically alluded to the possibility that maybe Zion didn’t speak up about his injury right away making me wonder exactly how long this knee “soreness” had been around...
