Of course people say this when asked. The problem is that very few have actually realized the reality of what that means. If push comes to shove you’ll suddenly see people more worried about disrupting their kids lives, worrying more about who would provide for their kids, and selfishly worrying more about their own goals, comfort, etc., than they are concerned about keeping their guns. Sure some will hide their guns and claim they were stolen or lost, but very few will actually take to the street to start killing those loyal to the government.
