Tbh if he wants to take a HC job on January 14th I wish him all the best. I understand why schools are making hires now, though

As long as he gives it his all in the playoff I am fine with it! He deserves to be a head coach.

It just doesn’t make any sense.
Why take a drastic pay cut (when you are the highest paid assistant coach in the country) to Get all the responsibility and headache at a mountain west school that won’t have the recruiting base or ability, nor the resources to attain anything other than mediocrity?
Instead, make bank at an established powerhouse that is on the path to a championship, and possibly a run at greatness. He’ll get better, more lucrative and more attractive offers from P5 schools with a Natty under his belt in the future.
What sane man would piss it all away to slide into a forgettable HC career destined for lukewarm?
