I would be just as excited killing a basket rack 8 pernt on public land as that buck.

But to each his own

My excitement level in killling bucks does not scale with antler size. It depends on the context. The ultimate would be killing a buck like that on public land. Now that would be something to brag about.

I am all for people killing something that makes them happy but I don't see how killing a bunch of basket racks still makes anyone happy. That is why private land is so damn expensive in the south. $1M for a great hunting place isn't crap.

Public ground could be amazing down here but too many happy with young bucks.

Here’s a deer my buddy killed bow hunting on public land in Ohio. He paid for the license and the gas to get up there

I agree. I hunt public land and killed a nice 10 point a few years back. No bait, etc. Just attempted to figure out his route and won.
