I found an old pool net telescoping pole on the side of the road. A duck foot was around 10 bucks. It isn't good for heavy dude poling but it works for light stuff.

I could drill it and put bolts/wing nuts through and it'd be a bit tougher.

I have a Superstick and I really like it for my limited use of a push pole

that sounds like a great idea too, this place never disappoints with the great helpful people with solutions

i really would like something water proof and i doubt i would be putting more then a few pounds of pressure on it. its a flatboat after all so its super easy to push around like nothing
