If the Dims believe that 70% of Americans want Trump impeached why not just take that confidence to the 2020 GE and defeat Trump? Trump would be much more devastated if he was rejected by the American people versus being railroaded by a buncha Dim Swampers. It's clear the Dims have accepted the fact their party is teetering on self destruction. Think about this...the Dim party is an amalgamation of disparate Americans (labor/unions, SJW's, LGBTQ.....XYZ, extreme environmentalists, Globalists, etc.) these different factions have relatively limited political power individually but together they comprise a powerful Dim political party....the issue that's tearing their party apart is they're fricking nuts.
