Assuming we get past UGA, the easier road to the final would be facing Utah, Ou, Baylor etc...and letting Clemson and Ohio State slug it out. Then again we'll have to beat one of them eventually anyway.

I suppose the overriding factor is if we reach the final that game would be in NOLA. right?

All I really care about is getting into the playoffs. I just want to avoid giving the Committee the power to cheat us by losing to UGA.

Peach Bowl in Atlanta vs Utah or Fiesta Bowl in AZ vs Clemson? Which would you prefer?

Wait.. It would be easier to play Utah, OU, or Baylor than Clemson?

It's better for getting into the NC, but as far as winning it all, it simply doesn't matter. You have to beat either Clemson or Ohio State to get the natty.

And if I'm being honest, I'm not worried. I had this feeling in 2010 when we played Auburn that Auburn was going to win it all and there was nothing anybody could do. It was at the end of the 3rd quarter, and we actually went on to tie it up at the start of the 4th, but there was a gut wrenching feeling that it didn't matter how any team played, Cam Newton was winning a national title.

I had that same feeling midway through the Arkansas game. They cut to the sidelines and you could see the crowd, and you could see the players and they were talking about the records, and I had that same feeling. This team will win it all. Put us at #4. It just doesn't matter.

The overriding factor is to be in the top 4. Chance of a NC is zero for 5-25. Regardless of where you are seeded the NC game is in your back yard. Who do we match up best with?? OSU, Clemson, and Utah have such different conference foes in terms of having rosters with equal or slightly lower talent to play compared to LSU it is hard to say. I would like to see the Vegas line on each team that LSU, OSU, and Clemson play against each other. So AU vs all teams OSU and Clemson played. See that for each team on our schedule just for the heck of it cause I am still floored bout how close Vegas gets it each week. They have money on the line and no allegiance.

This. If we lose, I'm fairly certain that we would be out. The committee would suddenly decide to place emphasis on conference championship games, and a one-loss Big XII or PAC XII champion would jump us. If Oregon is able to beat Utah, then we really only have to worry about OU. If we put the decision in the hands of the committee, they will screw us in order to keep 2 SEC teams out of the playoffs.

Also, it would be much easier and cheaper for most LSU fans to travel to Atlanta than to Phoenix. You can walk to Mercedes-Benz Stadium from any hotel downtown, plus you can take the Marta. In Phoenix, there are no hotels within walking distance of the stadium, so you'd need to either rent a car or catch a ride. From a purely convenience standpoint, Atlanta wins hands down.

Would you rather have to beat one of them? Or both of them? Seems pretty straight forward to me

I don't care who we play...we have the edge and we have the "home field advantage". Easiest road by far is ou/utah though..Clemson is favored to win the whole thing and their history speaks for itself so. I'd be more worried about OU than utah though...They can score on anyone too and it would most likely be a shootout. Utah we are gonna get ours and i dont think they have the offense to keep up. Beating #4 georgia, #3 clemson, #1 osu though would be the most epic season ever.

It doesn't matter. Either you beat the team you are matched up against or the team that beat the team you weren't.

JUST WIN!

We would have a sizeable home field advantage over Utah if the game is in Atlanta. OU travels very well, but I still think LSU would have more of an advantage. If we play Clemson out west, it would essentially be a neutral site. I have no idea how many fans Clemson would bring to Phoenix, since they'd be dealing with the logistics of travel, just like we would.

I do agree that OU concerns me more than Utah, and, at least offensively, more than Clemson. We would have a tough time shutting down Jalen Hurts.

Yup hurts knows us well. Also i was talking more of an advantage for the team...playing back to back games in ATL then in the backyard in NOLA even though we all know that didnt work out to our advantage last time lol

Personally, I'd rather play Utah 1st round but we know how the media loves OSU so they'll probably do anything to have us at #2 and play Clemson in the first round. Either way, we just have to win and it's ours!

This. We could beat georgia 42-0 and they still wouldn't put us ahead...harder schedule but OSU blowing people out with weaker schedule means more. Makes no sense. Then they say they look at it week to week but then will bring up osu has just looked better on both sides of the ball all year.

I’d rather play an overrated Utah team that’s never even sniffed a major bowl game rather than a veteran defending national champion. Anybody who says any different is full of shite.
