I could be wrong on this, but from my understanding Leach has a rolling 5-year contract. If the AD decides to not fire him after the season, another year gets added. That's what this "extension" was about. So I don't believe this would take him off of anyone's board if they really wanted him.

Not saying that Leach is going anywhere, but all the article says is that Wazzou and Leach agreed to extend the contract he signed in 2017, at a continuation of his 2020 compensation (no raise), for an additional year.
If the right offer came along, he would probably still consider it (unless the extension involved a hefty increase in his buyout if he were to leave, which currently stands at $1.8 million).
