I’m racking my brain and can’t think of the time when bama got in when they shouldn’t have...

You should go to the Lee Harvey Oswald thread. Seems you enjoy a good irrational conspiracy.

2011 and 2017 easily.

Bowden is underrated. Joe Pa was not. He is rated right where he needs to be. A good coach who had a long career, but had his image tarnished because he allowed a child predator access to hundreds of kids right under his nose because they were friends.

quote:. Definitely the same thing. Let me know the next time the Superbowl has teams from the same division of the same conference.
Teams that beat the Super Bowl Champion in the regular season don't bitch and moan because they had to beat them when it counted and couldn't. Only LSU does that.

‘011 they were clearly better than Oklahoma state. Clearly. That’s utterly laughable. I want the best two teams in the title. LSU and bama were the best two regardless of who won the first matchup. Had LSU lost the first game they woulda went in over okie state.

False.

Well we had one of the best teams of all time and got waxed. So it is safe to say bama would beat them by 3 tds.

The result of that game doesn't change the resumes. If it was Arkansas and not Bama in the discussion, Okie State goes to the championship game.

Remind me again who are the 2011 national champions?
Why? Because they won when it counted.

Who has said y'all didn't get the trophy?

Why are we giving do-over games and SECCG bye weeks to divisional runner-ups who lose to vastly inferior teams at home?
We aren't, Alabama wasn't a "vastly superior" team to LSU that year, but it was very evident that they were the better football team, and a lot of people across the country felt that way after the first game.
The competition for that spot that year did lose to a vastly inferior team, which is why they didn't get in.

Yea, forget their much better wins.

what were those? Bama's best win in the regular season that year was against Arkansas by 3 touchdowns, who finished ranked #5. They beat a top 25 Penn State team on the road that was 9-3 on selection day.
OSU had 3 top 25 wins to Alabama's 2 on selection day. Their best being a win at home over #13 Baylor against Alabama's win over Arkansas. So yea, when it's that close, and Alabama had the best win of the two, a loss to a putrid Iowa State team is going to carry some weight. Y'all have some revisionists history over that season. Oklahoma State won their conference, but they didn't play in a conference championship game either. The big 12 pushed their regular season finale back a week to give it that impression, but it's not like alabama got to sit at home while OSU had to go play in a conference championship game. That didn't happen

no point in trying to convince you.

That's a lot of words to just say "muh best loss."
Not sure how one loss to Iowa State reduces OSUs top 25 wins to 2.

On selection day alabama had wins over #7 and #24 with a loss to #1 LSU in overtime
OSU had wins over #11, 15, and 19 with a loss to unranked ISU in overtime
In no world is the latter a better resume.

So 3 top 20 wins vs 1.

I didn't say it did, they had 3 top 25 wins and Bama had 2. Point to OSU
Their best win was #11, Bama's was #7. Point to bama
They lost to an unranked team. I repeat, they lost to an unranked team. A bad one. One that finished 6-7. Bama lost to the #1 team. Again, point to bama.
Bama didn't get in because they had "the better loss"
They had the much better loss, and beat two top 25 teams to OSU's 3, including the highest ranked of the 5.
