Yeah, got in the last couple flights for it and was kind of a letdown, didn't feel great on PC.

They claim to have made some changes on newer builds to get it feeling better for release so we'll see. There was an issue above 60 FPS so they had to remove the unlimited FPS option and lock it to 60 in the last multiplayer flight.

You must have missed Halo 2 then.

I preordered MCC the day it became available on Steam. So ready for this. Really hoping Halo 1 and 2 are available soon.

Yeah that is part of what I was alluding to in that they said it was fixed in the newer builds and they made some minor kb/m tweaks.

They are still unsure on what to do with the kb/m players versus controller players. The aim assist is super strong so in the tests the controller players absolutely dominated in every lobby. I think they said they plan to tone it down some before release on that as well. The servers were terrible as well and they said once again they added 5x more servers for launch.

Hopefully this isn't Xbox MCC launch all over again.

Should I potentially bust out the controller for this? Just wouldn't feel right IMO. Haven't played a FPS shooter with a controller since 2014.

Doubtful seeing as how low that bar was set with that launch

Eh, Idk what people expected to be honest. Halo has always been designed as a console shooter. It was never going to port over super smoothly with regard to controls. I still have the #1 concern of sniper rifles having perfect accuracy with the reticle, which is fine on controller since no-scoping has no aim assist, but with a mouse? That thing is going to be a true makeshift shotgun.

Agreed.

Agreed on a level I struggle to put into words.

Not near as significant in Reach as you probably remember. It was originally a very significant problem, but was reduced drastically with the title update (TU). If you stick to competitive play, bloom is completely eliminated. Not to say I approved of bloom, just that it isn't as bad on average as it used to be.

According to a faq I saw this morning, uncapped is available as an experimental option upon launch. In other words, it is there, and it should work overall, but it could be buggy. 60 is supposed to be the safe guarantee.

Are they seriously not offering pre-load for this or am I missing something?

Pretty mad about this. It's gonna be a shite show tomorrow with downloading and then unpacking. Even with SSDs, shite is slow.

I don't get why people get mad about this? Unless you have the worst internet in the modern era and/or are throttled each month. I uninstall and reinstall 60+ GB games on a whim.

I have a basic internet package with Spectrum.. 100 gigabits (Steam D/Ls are always maxed out 15 MB/s). Most of my games I can install in 2 hours or less. Just let it run and do something else.. I don't find it that big of a deal.

Are people being throttled or something?

Might be. I have a data cap of 1TB every month (I was told by a COX rep that they were having issues with all the bitcoin stuff so they calculated that 98% of users never even go close to using 1TB every month, so that's where we're at).

Honestly, Steam isn't too bad. I think the PSN downloads have been so bad for so long that I associate everything with that.

I generally understand wanting pre-load just because it's convenient and has become more of a norm these days.

That said, we're talking about a port of an Xbox 360 game at the end of the day. I'll be pretty impressed if the thing breaks 20 gigs.
