Hello & Happy Thanksgiving Who Dats & Who Datettes and welcome to the Week 13/Game 12 Saints Game Thread

It's the final of 4 straight weeks of NFC South contests, and this one comes with a major caveat, the ability to close out the division title at our most hated rival's building on Thanksgiving night when the Saints visit the Atlanta Falcons.

Many Saints fans have revenge on the mind following the game 2.5 weeks ago in the Superdome when a completely flat Saints team came out of the bye week and gave up 6 sacks and only scored 3 field goals in a 26-9 loss to the hated dirty birds.

Atlanta actually followed that result with another pretty quality win by going to Carolina and whipping the Panthers the next week as well. However, the hopes for a rejuvenated and reborn Falcon team all came crashing down last week in a demoralizing loss in the battle to get out of the NFC South cellar as not 1, but 2, defensive linemen scored TDs for Tampa Bay in a 35-22 loss to the Buccaneers that sent the Falcons back down to last place alone in the South.

Since that loss in Atlanta, the Saints have had a convincing win in Tampa Bay and a good start but heart-pounding ending 5 days ago, surviving Carolina on a last second field goal by Wil Lutz for the 34-31 win, a win that puts the Saints on the precipice of the division title.

LET'S AVENGE THE LOSS TO THE DIRTY BIRDS AND MAKE IT A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING BY CLINCHING THE DIVISION TITLE IN SPHINCTER DOME!!!

The offensive line, which had such issues against the Falcons in that game 2+ weeks ago, will be without 2 of its key pieces tonight as both Andrus Peat (forearm) & Terron Armstead (ankle) are both out tonight with injuries, as will FB Zach Line (knee). Will Clapp (back) is questionable for tonight's game and if he can't go the offensive line will REALLY be shorthanded. Meanwhile, Marshon Lattimore & Deonte Harris (hamstring injuries for both) are also both questionable after missing the last 2 weeks.

The Falcons will definitely be without TE Austin Hooper (knee), Matt Ryan's safety blankie. WR Julio Jones (shoulder) & TE Luke Stocker (back) are both questionable to play after not practicing at all in preparation for this week. S Sharrod Neasman (shoulder) is also questionable after being limited all week. Several key Falcons are returning from injury though, including RB Devonta Freeman, CB Desmond Trufant, & DE Takk McKinley.

Weather: It should be nice and clear with temperatures in the high 40s to low 50s for tonight's game with no chance of rain, so it would be a nice day to have the Mercedes Benz Arena roof open, but that's not a sure thing.

Uniforms: The most aesthetically pleasing uniforms in the Saints will be on display tonight... COLOR RUSH

Playoff Clinching Scenarios:
Saints Clinch NFC South Division Championship With:
1) Saints Win
2) Saints Tie & Panthers Tie (vs. WASH Sunday @ Noon)

Current Standings:
NFC South
Saints 9-2
Panthers 5-6
Bucs 4-7
Falcons 3-8

6 bold predictions for New Orleans Saints vs. Falcons... LINK

The NFL’s three-game schedule is capped off by the New Orleans Saints’ visit with the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with kickoff clicked in for 7:20 p.m. CT on NBC. This heated NFC South rivalry game is the headliner, with undercard matchups between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears (at 11:30 a.m. CT on FOX) as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills (at 3:30 p.m. CT on CBS), giving fans plenty to watch during the Thanksgiving holiday.

But everyone knows the Saints-Falcons kickoff will feature the real fireworks. Games between common opponents with axes to grind are almost always unpredictable — as seen when the heavily-favored Saints laid an egg against the Falcons in their last meeting. With that said, here are our best and boldest predictions for Thursday’s game.

1. Drew Brees has his first 400-yard game of 2019.
Drew Brees is due for a monster day; he almost hit this mark if not for a few awful drops by his receivers.

2. Alvin Kamara finally gets going, rushes for 150 yards.
The Saints have been trying to get Kamara more involved, and they'll do it against a soft Falcons defense.

3. A non-Michael Thomas WR catches two TD's.
Can someone besides Thomas make a play at wide receiver? Ted Ginn Jr.'s hands have regressed but he still has game-breaking speed.

4. Julio Jones doesn't score a touchdown.
Okay, this one may not be bold. Jones is a game-time decision to even play and he hasn't scored in his last 8 games.

5. The Saints defense holds Atlanta to fewer than 10 points
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan could be without two of his top weapons in Jones and tight end Austin Hooper. This is a great chance for the Saints defense to get back on track after a few inconsistent games.

6. The Saints win the turkey, this game, and the NFC South
New Orleans is simply the better team, and it'll show up on Thursday night. They'll win another Thanksgiving turkey and their third straight NFC South title.

I’d rather just some other WR catches leave the TD’s to MT13!!!

Do you feel like NO-ATL will become a multi year tradition, or will it be two and through?

I was hoping it would, but with last years game being a blow out and the falcons not being good this year, they might rotate another 2 teams in next year. But then again if it was based on performance lions should have been gone.

Downvote - OP way too long as usual. Pain in the arse to scroll through. Please view DaGaruns Cowboys game thread on MSB or my example game thread on ST to see a far less annoying example.

For the life of me I dont understand why rt3 cant create his long op, copy and paste all the guts onto the very first reply to the OP, and then edit the op to be empty or just a simple "whodat".

Just really selfish by attention whore rt3 who doesnt care about ease of reply in his own thread
