Neither Utah or Clemson have a win vs a ranked team this year. Therefore I’m not sure how you can say they’re better than the defending champs if all else is equal.

Really impressed by that win against...*checks schedule*... Idaho State, were we?

One problem with your "logic". Many key players from Clemson's Natty team are long gone.

Different team. And Lawrence is not the same QB he was last year. Utah's Huntley is a far more efficient QB.

Ute's had to do something to counter Clemp's Ws over Charlotte and Wofford

You're on crack. Dabo been coiled up and hiding in the grass all season as the polls kept demoting his club due to the wussy schedule. Yeah, he's 26 & 0. He's the most dangerous team in the land, I promise you.

Of any team, Clemson is the one team that most would not want to play in the first round.

They’re legitimately good and well coached

Utah’s stats are gaudy, but who have they played? Nobody.

Lawrence has been erratic this year and most of the defense from last year is gone.

Have you compared Clemson's and Utah's recruiting classes over the past four years?

Have you compared the coaching staffs?

Do you think Vegas would favor Utah over Clemson?

Are you high?

USC’s 3rd string QB threw for 350 against Utah. Burrow would probably throw for 450. Utah has a good run d but their offense is not explosive. Once LSU got up big Utah would have to start trying to throw a lot and make mistakes.

No doubt that LSU beats Utah. Not so sure OSU does.

If any team can squash OSU's run game (including Fields') it is Utah.

USC was flinging and hoping. Got lucky on several Hail Mary's.

USC had a total of 13 yards rushing in that game. Fluke win for USC.

I think Vegas will favor C by 13 at least. The public could push it 14 1/2 at least. Will bet the max at 14 1/2.

To be honest, no game will be a cakewalk. Clemson always seems to get hot late and they're a seasoned playoff team and the Utes aren't as bad as people on this board make them out to be. Yes the Pac 12 is shite, but they are out to prove that they belong. Watch them turn some heads when they roll Oregon in the championship.

You do realize Vegas has us favored over Utah by 10 on a nuetral field while Clemson is favored by 4 points against LSU on a nuetral field? I’ll trust the guys who do this stuff for a living and say we would rather play Utah in the Semis.

I’m sure a Utah is a good team, but they don’t have the talent Clemson has on O or D. 9 of the 11 starters from last years O that crushed the weak ACC teams AND the two undefeated CFP teams by combined 70 points are back. Lawrence, Higgins, Ross and ETN and 4 of those 5 OL that went up and down on the Bama D that would be the best on CF this season are back. Utah’s O has nothing on Clemson. And while TLaw had a rocky start to season by his standards, since the Louisville game, he is 66-85 (78%) for 1007 yards, 13 TDs and 0 INT. Only Burrow has been better.

Defensively, they lost the top 4 DL from last year, but the current starters were backups last year and played a lot last season. They, too, were highly rated 4 and 5 star re recruits. The back 7 is the best in football this season and is their strength. Venables has coached in what 5 or 6 national championship games, winning 4. Statistically, this Clemson D is better than last years.

Sure, you could say who have they played this season when you compare the to other teams. But that didn’t stop them last season when they blew out what was talked about as the best CF team of all time in Bama.

Clemson has won 2 of three national championships. Came close to a third. Has beaten all the big name programs the last 6-8 years. Utah may be a good team this year, but my money would be on Clemson being better.
