So what's up with Wiki blocking everyone from editing?

I tried to do my first edit on a wiki page. I've never had an account on wikipedia, however I've tried from multiple devices and each one is blocked from creating an account.

Probably had something to do with when one of my friends got drunk and deleted the entire holocaust page back in college.

If it is a high-traffic article, they restrict edits to a certain group of people.
Go try to edit an article about an insignificant subject, like South Carolina football, and you can do what you want to it.

One of the most pathetic people I know would always post on fb about getting IP blocked again by wiki. He liked to frick with the mormon page and a few others.

I caught shite for editing the famous alumni page of my high school to include all the shitheads and flunkouts from my graduating class.
