Looking at an Air BNB between Edgewood and Decatur near Grady hospital. I have never been to Atlanta before and was hoping to get some insight into what the area was like before I booked it. Any help would be appreciated.

Fun fact: the ATL plane train says "D as in David" instead of the phonetic alphabet Delta because stupid people would think all Delta flights would depart from that terminal.

In that area you will find pockets of really nice/cool and pockets of pretty run down. If you are near the Edgewood retail district or downtown Kirkwood or Oakhurst village or anywhere in the actual city of Decatur those are great spots with good restaurants/walkable. Stuff in between can be sketchy.

are you talking about the streets Edgewood and Decatur (versus neighborhoods)? If not, then this makes zero [well, or at least not much] sense. And if streets, then that seems awfully specific. Are you planning to walk (i.e., get shot en route) to Grady?

I don't want to be too mean, because I assume you have a loved one in ICU.

I must have misread. Talking about the streets makes a lot more sense. Sounds like he is talking about basically somewhere basically around Georgia State's campus.

There is a really cool spot off of Peachtree too. Should check it out.

Heading to Atlanta as well for the SECCG. Debating if I should stay in Bucktown, downtown or by the airport so it will easy to catch my early Sunday morning flight back home.

Stay in buckhead or near the battery IMO. Both will be packed after the game and fun to be had at each. If youre not into partying after the game, then I would just stay by the airport.

I wouldn't stay in any of those options. Buckhead has gotten awful, there's not a whole lot going on downtown, and the area around the airport is pretty rough.

Stay in Midtown or Virginia Highlands.
