Had an ink pen bust after a full cycle in the dryer. Tried Magic eraser, Goo Gone, and a couple old towels soaked in bleach running on a cycle. Nail polish remover seemed to be the only thing that worked, but not completely, and it’s taking off some of the white finish inside the barrel. Any tried-and-true methods?

You can also try Orange Oil

Kroil penetrating oil, works on ink and gum. You will need to clean the barrel with soapy water after to remove the oily film that the kroil will leave. Then run a couple of cycles with something you don't mind smelling like kroil (think shop towels). This is the best solvent I have found. I seem to regularly have gum and ink pens show up in the dryer.

Same thing happened to mine. I tried to clean it and gave up. Now I have a nice blue hue in the dryer. It has never come off on any of the clothes, and it has been like that for a few years now.

Try rubbing alcohol. Our dog chewed up a blue pen on a white couch and alcohol was the only thing that worked.

If alcohol doesn't work, try Goof Off.

This is much stronger than Goo Gone.

LINK

Edit: I've had that happen on multiple occasions. I carry pens in my pants pockets.

Hair spray has always worked for us to remove ink from clothing. Don't know what it would to the coating of the dryer drum.

WD-40 is the best thing for this.

Spray some on a rag and it should wipe off
