Not sure if this is sarcasm or not haha, but it’s easy to get caught up in numbers and statistics.

That’s quite the assumption

Can't trust those pesky computers though. They had Texas over Florida in 08 to play OU.

It’s still an assumption and in this case it’s incorrect

It's a damn good reason not to for a UF fan.

No offense, but you literally just said this:

I understand that, I guess I just find it hard to ignore everything else. By purely just looking at wins and losses you can easily miss the big picture.

Right I understand the numbers and your argument I just disagree with the conclusion.

quote:It's entirely valid and rational to say the team with the #2 SOS in the nation that is undefeated should not be behind a team with a loss that they beat on the road who has a lower rated SOS.
But the worst part is that you are arguing to disregard any objective measure, no matter how valid, reliable, and empirically-supported the measures are IF they do not show the outcome that you BELIEVE (and understandably so) is correct and without any valid justification for your rationale.
There's almost literally nothing invalid and irrational about that statement.
quote:Albeit, with their flaws.
But this is a bit ironic since when presented with unbiased and objective metrics (albeit with their flaws) you've been arguing to throw any out that have Bama rated higher than LSU, despite being only slightly higher and despite being higher in some of the best and most widely used metrics:

What's the "conclusion"?
Posted on 11/18/19 at 6:58 pm to KosmoCramer
According to the numbers Cincinnati is a better win than Alabama, and though I understand how xiv came to this conclusion I don’t agree with it. Do you?

Are y'all being intentionally obtuse or just have no ability to understand data?

Russillo made a dig about OSU fans on his most recent podcast.
It could not have come at a more perfect time in relation to the MSB lately. It was so spot on for what's been going on around here lately.

I personally lean towards predictive models because they use all available data. But they can bring inherent bias in which I dont like.
I see both sides and just evaluate myself, which many times reinforces my own prejudgments.

I love metrics sometimes. I mean clearly Alabama with Tua injured is now better than the team they just lost to...with Tua

Intentionally obtuse then. Got it.

You kill me with the data stuff while being soooo super biased at the same time.

It's actually the exact opposite. Understanding the flaws of data is much more powerful.
