There is no possible way to know this. Plenty of players play with bum ankles, and I'm not reading about displaced hips every week.
It's well known by medical people that injuries that don't heal properly leads to other injuries because you overcompensate in other areas.

I guess there is no way to know for sure that Tua's ankle injury led to this injury, but it is a completely logical thought and very possible.

And Tua's ankle was bad enough that he got surgery for it. This wasn't a little ankle thingy.

Then why don't we see it more? Plenty of people play after injuring their ankle, yet this isn't exactly a common injury.

Yup, which is why people like LesterEarl are idiotic for trying to relate an uninjured player in the same situation.

Tua was not right and they had a comfortable lead. It was Miss St. No reason to risk more potential injuries for a player that is more at risk for injury than others.. and has a history..

There is a logical train of thought there, but the point the guy you quoted made is still valid. There's no way to know for sure, and I'm surprised that a licensed physician would go out on a limb and say that one definitely led to the other.

All you can really say is that the likelihood was higher than if he'd not had the injury.
