the hole. And ours against the Russians doing anything threatening toward the USA. Anything we have ever done in regard to Turkey has always been with that boogie man in the closet. Don't know what the process is for dismantling and getting uranium, etc out of there and if it can be done safely but I'm sure State and DOD is now figuring what to do.
Glad I'm not on that base serving. Turkish president is slowly withdrawing from NATO and aligning with Russia which won't end well for them. Or he is bluffing and wanting more for his allegiance. His decision back when to purchase Russia's S-400 air defense system was a tip off. He likely leaving NATO and Europe. And we have some decisions to make. Leave strategic bases there and destroy their economy which the president has threatened to do or a possible world war. This was always the nightmare and was just waiting for a radical leader like the one they have now. Now he is threatening Trump has done all he can to warn him of the consequences. "Don't be a fool and destroy your economy" is easy for anyone to understand. The Russians can't and won't feed them. The Turkish people elected a guy who has appointed himself dictator and now they will pay a price.

This turned out to be false a month ago.
The B61’s that are stored there are gravity bombs anyways. Tiny arse “nukes” that are meant to be dropped on troop concentrations on the battlefield. Turkey nor the US even have planes in the region that can drop these.
This is a big nothing.
The purchase of the anti defense from Russia on the other hand.......

That Turkey was going to realign with Russia has been certain since we let Putin have his way in Georgia and the Ukraine.
Putin is willing to fight for access to the Straits of Bosporus and the US had made it clear we do not have the stomach to oppose him.
I do not blame Erdogan one bit for doing what he feels is best for Turkey if we are not going to support the region against Russia like we promised. He has no mandate to protect US interest.

Erdogan is not that stupid ,and trust me Turkey does not hold any of our nukes hostage. Erdogan is trying to play both sides and I think he may be a problem long term ,but if there is any attempt to try and take over any of our nuclear weapons there will be swift action.
