Baylor runs the table they have to get in as an undefeated conference champion correct?

Should. Doesn't mean they will.

What makes the system a farce is we have an incentive to throw the SECCG. That's why we need a formula instead of a committee.

undefeated conf champs dont automatically get it. there arent even enough playoff spots for that scenario (Bix XII, Pac 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC).

If 1 loss, non-division winning Alabama gets in over an undefeated Big XII Champion Baylor, then frick the playoff and the committee.

No one could ever again say the regular season means something if a P5 team wins every game put in front of them, then gets left out of the Playoff for a 1 loss team that people think is better.

Obviously if we had 5 undefeated conference champions, someone is getting left out. But if you have 4 undefeated champs and a 1 loss team whose resume is topped by a win over a 4 loss Auburn, frick that team. They shouldn't get in.

Of course they do.

Also, Oregon’s AD, or is it the President(?), is on the Committee

they recuse themselves when there is a connection

Exactly! This is where you cross a dangerous line. It's the crux of the problem in having the human element influence the decision process. The committee would basically be sending a message that strength of schedule and having to play in, and win, a conference championship game means nothing in comparison to the "eyeball test."

I don’t see how they put Bama in over any 1 loss power 5 conference champ.

All of this teams will have an extra win in a championship game vs good probably ranked (except maybe Clemson) opponent

If Bama gets in over ANY 1 loss power 5 conference champ then the whole thing is a farce

- Oregon/Utah winner must remain with just one loss. Then we would have to hope the committee weighs more heavily to conference championship, because Bama's loss and schedule would probably be better than both

Oregon's one loss would be to a ranked team on the road, Bama's loss would be to a ranked team at home. SOS between Oregon and Bama would be debatable

I disagree. Bama doesn't have a single win over a ranked team, actually over a team with a winning record. Oregon would've won 12 straight and have beaten 11-1 Utah in the PAC XII championship game. There's no debate.

Agreed, Oregon has the best chance to keep them out. PAC 12 champ riding a 12 game winning streak and their only loss was to Auburn on a neutral field.
