Most important point on TUa's injury

TO me the most important thig to remeber with Tua's injury is no matter how much Bama would have scored even with a "healthy" Tua.
Joe, Clyde and LSU were scoring more. I truly believe LSU would have scored 100 if needed, Bama's defense had no answer for this offense.
Saban himself said after the game, this offense has no weeknesses.
They couldn't fricking stop us.
Even Barrett Salee said in his post game interview on CBS, Tua's injury status made no difference, because Joe is the better QB and LSU has the better scheme

One of the shows this morning highlighted a red zone play where Tua had a clear shot to run for a TD and tried to dump off instead for an incompletion, so he clearly didn’t have all of his usual skillset available. If he did, that means a higher scoring game, not necessarily a Bama win.

I agree, it would have been higher scoring but LSU still wins.

I don’t agree. Tua ran the ball on their first possession when he fumbled. It didn’t factor in there.
He has not been a runner this year, he had 30 yds rushing coming into the game for the entire season.
He didn’t run because they have drilled it into him to throw the ball and protect himself for the entire year, not just after the injury.

If you watch the play there was a safety spying from the end zone, but regardless of his decision not to run, they scored on that drive anyway. They scored as many as they were going to score, we just scored more.

Don't get me wrong - I think the OL has done a tremendous job of transitioning to the new offense (where nothing is more different than the line play - casual fans may not realize that) - AND improving on what was abysmal pass protection last year. And, I'm not as hard on Deculus as some of you baws.
But having said that, we have had a decades long difficulty in getting offensive tackles, with the occasional bright spot here and there (Whitworth, Reed, Collins), we typically have to make do with a kid who is a tweener or just a straight up converted guard. Despite all the spread offenses in high school, the state tends to produce more guards than tackles in HS.
And when we do produce a no shite, HS All American (going to be a left tackle in NFL) type offensive tackle, we have to fight the angry little man from West Virginia for him (looking really hard at you CRob).
Hopefully that is changing. Certainly as a line guy, O realizes that. Miles certainly should have.

What arguement? The one where if Tua wasnt slowed down some that Bama scores more, but LSU would have still won because Bamas defense couldn't stop LSU?
I mean like I said they couldn't stop LSU so if we needed 100 we would have scored 100.

Saban knew what the consequences of playing a gumpy Tua would be. He wasn't close to his usual mobility. The early hits he took & the damage to his ankle caused him to miss throws that he normally makes.

It was amazing to see Tua running around and throwing the ball all over, but immediately after the final whistle, he could hardly walk to midfield to shake hands. Reminds me of the player who gets beat on a long play and them fakes an injury for sympathy.

You know how you combat that?
Have a ab that has great pocket awareness, gets the ball out quick and give him a scheme that allows those things to happen.
That's what LSU has done and that is why Saban said they have no weaknesses.
Yes Bama got to Joe for 5 sacks I believe but dont kid yourself, with the pressure they were bringing it would have been much worse for most any other team

That was my exact thoughts.
Although I have been in adrenaline situations and that shite can change quick.
One second I was fine the next I was crying in pain feeling the 75% of my body that was burned badly.
So dont know which it was. Maybe a little of both

First off, he probably took a painkilling shot prior to the game which by the end of the game had to be wearing off.
Secondly, he was playing with an adrenaline rush which allowed him to block out the pain.
Last but not least, it's not like he didn't have surgery on the ankle 2 1/2 weeks ago. Dude had just played a 4 quarter football game on a recently surgically repaired ankle. That thing had to be sore & swollen. If you didn't notice, he was limping heavily on the field the entire 4th quarter. I really wonder if his ankle will be good enough to play on against Mississippi State next Saturday after the pounding it took yesterday. He is probably in a walking boot today.
