So apparently with the Oklahoma loss, all 18 of these documented projections the Advocate has been posting are now putting LSU in the CFP.

LINK

quote:

What was a trickle has become a deluge. First one, then two, then three bowl projections had LSU in the College Football Playoff. This week, LSU’s win over Auburn coupled with Oklahoma’s shocking loss at Kansas State have all the bowl projections we’ve documented – 18-for-18 – with the Tigers in the CFP. Of course, all that love can fade away if LSU loses next week at Alabama. But there is growing sentiment that a well-played defeat by the Tigers or Crimson Tide and wins in the rest of their games will play well with the CFP committee and keep them in the top four. Of course, for LSU it could be 2011 all over again as five projections have the Tigers and Tide meeting in the CFP semis. Remember, the highest-seeded team is all but set to play in the semifinal closest to home. If that’s LSU, it would be the Peach.

Hope so just hope we get the spot over a 12-1 OU. They are the wildcard

Committee has put them in every year with a loss

I can't tell if all those picks mean the pickers are projecting LSU to lose in the semis or if McMurphy is the only one who went a step further and projected championship game

I’m taking this to mean if we play a close game with Bama (win or lose), it will be a better loss than OU to Kansas State.

At 13-0, of course we get the spot over a 12-1 OU. The question is, considering SOS, does an 11-1 Bama get in over them?

LSU isn’t making any playoffs with special teams Iike we saw Saturday. LSU wins a close one vs Ala or by double digits, if their special teams plays well, LSU gets blown out if it doesn’t.

Bama does not deserve to be in with a loss. I don't care what happens. Don't be surprised if they lose to LSU that they turnaround and lose to AU as well.

I’m with you Peej. That would be the icing on the cake if that happened

What do you do with 3 one loss teams from the SEC? That’s still possible.

Even at 11-1 with the one loss being to LSU, they shouldn't get in. In that case, their best win will be Auburn, who may potentially finish the season with 3 losses (LSU, UGA, Bama) and be ranked outside of the top-15.

Yeah, yeah...spare me the "they can't control their schedule" BS excuse.

#1 yes they can, to an extent (hint: Duke usually isn't very good), and #2: win your damn division/conference,and you won't have to worry about your SoS.

The reason LSU wasn’t in the CFP mix before is because all the experts think LSU will lose time Bama. Now w OU loss and ND second loss has opened the door for 2 sec teams.

no it isn't, only two teams have that chance and that is Lsu and Alabama, Georgia and Florida play this week and then they lose in the Sec championship

That's what Danielson was saying during the Auburn game. I agree with him.

However, the only two teams that have a chance at that 4th spot are LSU and Bama. UF and UGA will have to get in the playoffs by winning the SEC.

But the loser of the LSU/Bama game will have to keep it within 7 points. If it isn't a nail-biter, I think the loser gets left out.

LSU or Bama winner only loses in SECCG

LSU 1 loss
Bama 1 loss
East winner 1 loss

If Baylor loses to Oklahoma, TCU, or Texas before the end of the season, the odds are LSU will be in the college football playoffs even if they lose to Alabama on Nov. 9th and if they stay undefeated for the rest of the season. The only thing that could possibly stop LSU from getting into the college football playoffs is if Alabama loses to either a one-loss Florida or a one-loss Georgia team in the SEC title game. In that case, Alabama would have a better resume than LSU by virtue of its victory over LSU.

In any event, LSU would have to be very unlucky not to make it into the college football playoffs.

If LSU beats Alabama on Nov. 9th and goes undefeated for the remainder of the regular season, LSU is in the college football playoffs regardless if they lose in the SEC title game. Cause LSU will have a better resume than every other one-loss team in America by virtue of LSU's three victories over top-ten teams.

Exactly. What do you do in that scenario?

Bama and LSU will both get in. Y’all better get ready because it’ll happen assuming that’s either team’s only loss.
