Constitutional order: restored.

This is great...Judicial Branch needs to step in and beat down the lawlessness of The House. Way past time. The House is outnumbered 2.5 to .5. They need some comeuppance immediately then let the voters finish the beat down.

Another point...the way The House is acting was LONG foretold before the 2018 election. Trump has pushed the Dems/left to the brink and most should have seen this coming. Hopefully this assinine behavior of The House will teach a lesson but it bothers me our country had to see it actually play out rather than heeding all the warnings beforehand. All this unacceptable shite could have easily been avoided.

The executive branch needs to step up and restore the will of the people by force. That any fool in a black robe can just whimsically make rulings like they do, especially the SC deciding policy for 300+ million people....
Not a legitimate system.

In your thread I wasn't understanding why you didn't see this as a win.

This is kind of big especially if the DOJ wins appeal, not withstanding the unprecedented nature of releasing GJ material. It puts a kink in the Dems plans to meld Adam Schiff’s Ukraine phone call testimony with the Mueller report in the Judiciary committee run by Nadler. Dems were hoping to meld those information together to make subpoena power enforceable by the judiciary. Right now the executive can still tell Adam Schiff to pound sand with no repercussions from the judiciary.

Maybe there was a misunderstanding. Easy to do on a day like today. I think this is a win.

Couldn’t they easily get subpoena power by voting to affirm impeachment proceedings?
I guess I don’t follow politics as much as I used to. Are they afraid of republicans getting subpoena power?

This was kind of my question too. Isn’t this essentially how Nixon went down. Withholding information

Yes but they won’t do it.
There will be a vote Thursday but the rules in the new resolution are VERY restrictive on the GOP.

Honest question for the board’s lawyers — is t the law pretty clear cut on this?

They have the transcript. There is no more information.
Furthermore the Nixon Congress gave equal rights to both parties.

This whole thing isn’t about a single phone call

How so?
ETA. This makes no fricking sense to me - politically or legally. A bullshite impeachment inquiry based on a fantasy is only going to galvanize Trump’s support. Also, why are they so terrified of republicans having subpoena power? How could they possibly avoid that?

What the dems don’t want to do is vote fore full impeachment inquiry because that gives trump lawyers access to committee hearings and gives GOP full subpoena powers.
Dems do not want that as it will expose the lies.
