Mavericks loss may have set tone for year

We could be 1-2 with two losses against two very good teams thst we just barely lost on the road. But instead you’re 0-3 and 0-3 just sounds bad and looks bad and it just kills the psyche of a young team.
After a while these guys get down on themselves, we are doing this hard and playing this good to be 0-3 (without Zion too) which is what we could’ve been if we didn’t try at all.... 1-2 with two very very very good loses sounds optimistic
I believe they win tonight if they’re 1-2 and get to 2-2 but when you’re 0-3 and on top of that two of your veterans are out....well 0-4 is easy to come by
It so frustrating but an early season loss like that kills you so much more than it shows
Let’s just hope for a turnaround so the season doesn’t feel lost before Zion even returns

Bro the Warriors aren’t good, let alone very good. Their roster is a joke outside of 3 guys.
I now think I misread your post. Oh well, I’m keeping it

Exactly why I think the pelicans win tonight if they were 1-2 coming into it

The Pels could be 0-8 entering their road trip to Charlotte

This season is over. Zion isn’t saving this ship.

I didn’t realize how hard their schedule is until I played 2k.
The first 14 are brutal. If we get to 5-9, thats a win

I think people are way too down on them. I think they get the 3 seed. Most are picking them around the 6 seed. No way.

5-9? We’ll be lucky to go 2-12. We are already 0-4.

Frankly, there’s a good chance that nobody will remember the first 2 or 3 games come
Feb-March.
Feb-March.

I've got some serious concerns about this team & organization if they cannot overcome the little adversity that 0-4 brings.
is 0-4 ideal? hell no. but it's not the end of the world. this team should know how talented they are and know all they have to do is keep getting better everyday
and as fans, we can support this team instead of claiming that the sky is falling after 4 games.

This team ain’t winning many games giving up 120+ a night. Doesn’t matter if they’re 100% healthy, that’s not winning basketball.

I don't disagree. we won't win with the defense we've played.
but if the team "backs down" after 4 losses, it's a pretty sad excuse for mental toughness. same goes for the fans. "won't back down" should be a mantra for us too. sticking with & supporting these guys.

Just some observations watching and attending all but the Houston Game:
Choked away two leads against Toronto - late in the 4th and in overtime...inexcusable.
Have no one on the court right now outside of Ingram who's even close to Doncic and Porzingas.
Sloppy passing and play inside the paint, guys can't finish, sporadic 3pt shooting, defensive lapses, Reddick useless right now...it's a recipe for disaster.
Left Warriors game midway through the 3rd...seen enough. NAW should be on a program of must hit at least 2/5 3's to keep shooting, otherwise pass it, drive, or come out the game.
Ingram and Josh Hart are our overall best performing players, Jackson appears to be our best current 3pt shooter.
Ball is inconsistent, doesn't play with intensity, and looks disinterested on court.
Until Zion can play 35-40 on a consistent basis expect high lottery pick type results.
Bottom line, I bought lower bowl season tix because the mid to long-term looks legit for this team with Griffith in charge - I expect 2+ conference finals or even NBA finals appearance during the next 2-6 years.

sportjunkie - pretty close to what i feel so far.
Add that Gentry needs to find a way to play the right combos as well. I still say Hart Ball, and KW on the floor same time isn't good.

zion out "6 to 8" weeks.
Not going to be in game shape a while.
Pels are now like golden state.
No way they sniff playoffs.
Develop the guys. Let zion come along carefully.
Maybe make a deal with jrue as bait in february.
Snooker some hopeful out of two #1s for their shot at ship. Maybe some good team is holding a #1 from some bums.
Wait til next year.

Yeah the team isnt making the playoffs this is a growing season. Hopefully we see some semblance of defense tonight although I doubt it. I dont know if it is laziness or being tired from having to play so fast on defense....or stupidity. Its atrocious to watch tho.
