heading to a buddies in ruston this weekend to watch the LA Tech vs LSU basketball exhibition Saturday, plan on doing some fishing while im up there. Never really fished for sacalait as i mostly fish for bream and sometimes bass. Any tips on depth, bait, areas to fish this time of year? also I will be in a paddle boat so im sorta limited where i can go
Thanks in advance

We tore them up between Park Bay and the Hwy 33 bridge on the North side this spring.

First thing you need to know is that they are known as White Perch in that part of the state.

I catch them fishing the channel ledges with double minnow rigs this time of the year. You’ll need good electronics to stay on the ledges.

Check in with the Honey Hole Tackle Shop in West Monroe. They can give you good info and what they are hitting.
