Since you favor outright religion in schools, you have no problem with this, right?

I think both actions are wrong. I am amzed the supreme court said this action in Maryland can go on.

How is students voluntarily participating in a pre game prayer "outright religion in schools"? Especially after school hours. What point are you trying to make?

You shouldn't be surprised. It's the separation of Jesus and state for the left. They love them some Mohammedans.

No one favors "outright" religion (which is a term you just made up, so I'm defining it the way I want) - but we mention God on the money. Each House of Congress has a chaplain. The military has chaplains.

This voluntary expression of faith is in no way an establishment of nor a inhibition of the exercise of religion of non-believers.

FFS - it isn't Muslims or (practicing) Jews who bitch about this - it is ALWAYS the fricking athiests. Don't say the prayer if you don't want to. Skip "under God" in the anthem. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

But saying that students in Alabama can't recite the Lord's Prayer before a football game (or an invocation) because atheists from Wisconsin will be offended is LITERALLY RETARDED (with all due respect and no offense intended to folks with intellectual disabilities).

You see a relation between people who WANT to pray praying where others happen to hear it and FORCING someone else to actually participate?

Are you fricking retarded?

One of these is not like the other. Did you read the linked article? On the one hand you have faculty and staff barred from leading voluntary extracurricular activities. On the other hand, faculty is teaching school-mandated curriculum.

I have no problem with the teaching of the World's major religions as a part of World History. My wife is a teacher and does this. Since nearly 100% of student questions concern Christianity, she also uses it as an opportunity to share and model her faith. All perfectly legal.

Lol you are asking people on this board not to be hypocritical. Agree with you should be neither but if it's gonna be something it's gonna be a good ol' fashioned christian prayer dadgummit!
