He’s so full of shite. We’ve seen what happens when Bama doesn’t have the protection of SEC officials. They become mere mortals like the rest of the teams in the SEC.

As another poster stated, hope our defensive players are aware of bogus targeting calls resulting in suspensions Saturday night.

People have been bitching about the refs for years.

Why a statement now?

I hope we put Auburn away quick Saturday so we can rest the defensive starters so there can’t be a targeting call in the 2nd half

I hope the millennials are paying attention. You can completely suck at your job, be a totally incompetent clown, and still be well paid if you are corrupt enough

This is such bullshite. People bitch about the officiating being biased and what does he do? Create a bunch of programs to "educate" the fans. Stop blaming your customers for the problem and take a look in the mirror! frick Sankey.

If you didn’t see the Tennessee game Saturday you missed one of their worst performances in recent history if not ever. Every time Tennessee moved inside the red zone they were flagged on the very next play, they twice had goal to go from the 20 or beyond, they were flagged anytime they threatened to score hell the refs even stopped play when they saw Bama was confused by a Tennessee formation inside the 15 and gave some BS excuse about re-setting the play clock when nothing was wrong with it. And those are just some of the ridiculous calls when Tennessee had the ball, there were phantom targeting penalties, phantom unnecessary roughness penalties and phantom pass interference penalties every time Tennessee made a stop with the game still in question.

Bama had 4 opponents touchdowns called back in the first 5 weeks of the season. Then they have the gall to play the Tennessee game 2/3 times a day all week. It’s to the point where the SEC is rubbing everyone’s nose in it. There must be something that can be done, a vote of no confidence for Sankey or something.

I saw some of it. Guess I’m just numb to it after seeing it for years.

Just puzzles me as to why Sankey would put that out there now. Mid-season.

He has to know it will just stir shite up.

I think because last year it got so bad that it became a national story he doesn’t want that to happen again. Maybe he feels if he addresses it somehow he’s out in front of it this time around.

Expect things to get worse with LSU and Auburn being legit threats to Alabama.

This is “getting ahead of the story.”

The thing is that it hurts 12 other schools, but nobody is willing to say anything but us. Why is that? Why can’t all of the other ADs band together and demand some accountability? The Bama/Tennessee game was so bad that it was laughable. Literally every time Tennessee threatened or made a stop, there was a penalty. When it’s that bad, it goes beyond incompetence. Nobody is that bad at their job, and if they are, what the hell are they doing out there to begin with??

You’re right it does, it also makes the SEC look like a bunch of corrupt southerners who can’t play fair so they rig everything and it’s hard to argue with that stereotype. But I agree the ADs do need to get together and flex whatever power they have.

Best or worst....it's relative depending on who you root for.

Abolish all of the conference official associations and have all NCAA officials under one umbrella. Implement VERY strict guidelines regarding officials refereeing a school in which they have ANY associations with. If you graduated from XYZ university...you will NEVER referee ANY game in XYZ’s conference.

Let the coaches evaluate and grade the officials and make it public. Players are called out by number when they make a mistake...officials need to be called out as well. Officials that don’t meet a certain rating can say bye bye and go back to high school.

What you propose is both logical, feasible, and makes perfect sense, which is why the SEC will never do it.

If you’re rooting for the game of football to be played by the rules of football it’s the worst. This isn’t a subjective situation.
