I usually stick up for Aranda, but I have been questioning his scheme/plan this season. However, I do think there is reasoning behind his decisions.

Moorhead in his post game conference said Aranda dialed up blitz/pressures that he hadn't seen LSU use all season. He said he watched all games and didnt see corner pressure and some other stuff.

Aranda is trying a bunch of new schemes, especially zone coverage to use later on. Our offense being so good allows that cushion of trial and error. Of course, he can always go back to base defense and call what works.

We’ll find out what his gameplan is in the 2nd half against Auburn.

I like Aranda's third-down Cheetah package. I just wish he would use it on third down more often.

Low key we are only allowing 18 points a game on defense.

We had ugly moments, but we just were never that bad.

“Later on” is here. The next two games are the biggest of the season.

I’ve said it before. We just don’t have the depth to blitz constantly. Aranda knows this. He is using the line to get pressure. We don’t have shifty linemen so he uses them to bull rush hoping to cause the QB to move (and they do just that) in an attempt to make the QB make a bad decision or throw in order to let our secondary get interceptions. It’s starting to work. We have seen way more interceptions the last few games and I fully believe we will see many more.

Dave has become very predictable. That's fine if you like drama. I'd prefer dominance.

I think Shelvin/Ika are gonna be key these next two games if they can get push up the middle on drop back passes. Getting both Nix and Tua off their spot in the pocket will help our secondary a lot. With Nix he’ll be uncomfortable as a freshman and hopefully make some forced throws, and with Tua not at 100% on his ankle it’ll be tough for him to get everything into his throws with limited time
