re: Brian Kelly on coaching and player evaluations timeline
Posted by Rick Stroker on 11/27/23 at 8:17 pm to White Tiger
If House is fired, then it’s obvious to administrations around the country that LSU is in search of a D-coordinator. That means that smart ADs/head coaches would be offering extensions/raises to guys that might come to LSU. If you wait to fire House and immediately announce his replacement, you blindside schools that might otherwise have had a chance to lock their guy down.

Last I saw was that Michigan is hoping he’ll come to the Ohio State game. The last Bryce spoke about anything he said he didn’t plan on anymore visits before he announces

This "lead" he mentions is literally all poll numbers. We have zero actual voting results yet. Millions of votes have been cast, but we have no idea how those votes break down. But I'd be lying if I said I was shocked at how irresponsible members of the media like him are in saying stuff like this
re: Cenk Uygur: My gut says 335-203!

By about midnight on Tuesday he’ll be yelling about how terrible of a candidate Biden was and how everyone with sense could see that Biden wasn’t really going to win, the DNC is so terrible, they should’ve elected Bernie, etc. Wash, rinse, repeat for whatever swamp rat the Democrats run in 2024
re: Texas Early Voting News: Now STFU
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/30/20 at 8:41 am to Covingtontiger77
If you show that to a Dem they'll say most of those republicans are voting Biden, despite Trump consistently having mid 90s approval among repubs. They will be so broken Wednesday morning
re: Democrats see signs of hidden Biden voters flipping from GOP
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/28/20 at 1:49 pm to Shamwow
There will be a lot of "hidden" republican Biden voters in New York and California. They'll be so hidden that the voters themselves won't even know that they voted for Biden instead of Trump
re: Wallace: If Hunter Story Was True — ‘We Would Have Seen the Fruits of That Investigation
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/22/20 at 2:55 pm to Jjdoc
Interesting that Wallace only mentions the tax returns from 2019, because if you look here at the Biden's 2017 tax return, you'll see that he and Jill had about $10m in income from their S-Corporations. The tax returns and financial records of those entities are unavailable on joebiden.com, conveniently.
re: Quinnipiac poll says Trump trailing Biden by 7 in Georgia
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/15/20 at 8:47 am to TideCPA
Gotta set the narrative. Trump is holding a rally in Georgia tomorrow (obviously to help with down ballot races), and as soon as it was announced the poll-watchers starting saying "Well if Trump is going to Georgia this close to the election, it's obviously not a good sign." This poll helps set the narrative that Trump is desperate to hold on to even solid GOP states
re: Trump should go on Rogan alone
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/9/20 at 6:05 pm to FreddieMac
Going on Rush is for firing up the base/reaching out to Republicans that might be on the fence. Going on Rogan and seeing that he’s a somewhat likeable guy who isn’t the nazi that CNN says he is might convince enough reluctant Biden voters to either flip sides or stay home

The regular polls don't poll the entirety of a state. They generally miss many rural areas.
The ultimate irony of this election would be if we do see a huge increase in turnout like the media pollsters think, but it turns out to be a bunch of baws from the backwoods turning out for the first time to keep MAGA in office

re: Amy Coney Barrett will be the nominee.
Posted by Rick Stroker on 9/21/20 at 10:40 pm to pwejr88
I’m thinking that ACB is a head-fake at this point: her being the only one reported to meet with him at the White House, leaks to the press that he’s close to picking her, and all the media pieces and blue-check twitter talking about Barrett the past two days. Add to it that Trump will be in Florida for a rally on Thursday with an open date on Friday (he said he’d have a pick by Friday or Saturday), and I think he may be leaning towards Lagoa
re: Cowherd doesn’t think LSU can stay within 2 touchdowns of Clemson

The best thing would be if LSU wins by 14+ and no one gives him any attention at all
re: Hmm top billon seems to think stingley will struggle against Clemson’s wideouts. Thoughts?
Posted by Rick Stroker on 1/9/20 at 9:26 am to FreddieMac
Most of the times that Stingley has struggled this year have been against extremely quick, extremely fast route runners (see: Alabama's entire receiving core). When he's been matched with big, physical receivers (Johnson from Texas, Williams from Auburn, etc.) he has typically done pretty well. Obviously Higgins and Ross are on a different level and will get theirs, but I expect Stingley to get some big pass breakups as well.
re: UVA hanging with UF makes me nervous
Posted by Rick Stroker on 12/30/19 at 8:24 pm to ForeverEllisHugh
If LSU played Florida again today they’d win 49-17. This team is playing on a different level, especially on the defensive side, since the Ole Miss game/Delpit sat out Arkansas week to get healthy. My point being don’t take too much away from bowl games involving teams we played prior to that
re: Time to take serious look at Aranda's job performance
Posted by Rick Stroker on 11/20/19 at 11:43 pm to bfniii
If the defense plays like it did against Alabama down the stretch, and there’s no reason to think it won’t, LSU wins the national championship. Alabama’s offense scored 34 points and that total includes the trick snap play. That offense that has been naming their score all season before Tua went down had three sustained drives in the entire game. The Ole Miss game is nothing more than an aberration at this point since the rush defense has been pretty good overall for the entire year. Do I wish there weren’t as many big plays given up? Yes, but I also have confidence that the defense will be able to make a few key stops when it matters

While I love hearing that a loss to Georgia doesn’t disqualify us, I’d sure love it if LSU splatters UGA all over the field December 7th
re: Realistically, how much can Georgia score?
Posted by Rick Stroker on 11/18/19 at 8:01 pm to easy money
I’d expect a similar offensive output to Florida with 28 points, which is good because LSU will score 38

I’ll take Joey Burrow against any team in the country
re: Burrow needs bout 1150 yard to break Tim Couch

I’m hoping they let Joe break the single game passing yards record (528) vs A&M so that’s half of it right there

O/U on the amount of times Gary/Nessler gush on Saturday about how impressive Tua is on the ankle that clearly wasn’t nearly as hurt as everyone wanted us to think?
re: If we lose to Bama. AU is the key to play offs

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Auburn beats either UGA or Bama. It seems like an Auburn thing to do
re: Is it ever discussed why the orcs in LOTR don’t have horses?
Posted by Rick Stroker on 11/6/19 at 7:31 am to Hawgnsincebirth55
I don’t think it’s ever mentioned in the movies, but in The Return of the King book, it’s stated that Sauron didn’t have access to enough horses to supply his army with cavalry. Plus the orcs would have probably just eaten the horses as soon as they got tired of eating slop. I guess Saruman would’ve been able to get enough horses but again the orcs would’ve probably eaten all the horses before they could be effective in combat. They had such a great numbers advantage that it shouldn’t have mattered, but they didn’t count on Aragorn showing up with the ghost army

This. They called Bo Nix for intentional grounding last week when he threw it away after Auburn tried a reverse pass
re: Defensive strategy against Alabama if Tua plays
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/27/19 at 6:02 pm to Metaloctopus
Gotta be able to run both man and zone and disguise the coverage against Tua so he is forced to hold the ball and make reads. If he knows where he’s going with the ball every play we have no chance of slowing that offense down. At the same time you have to get home fast with pressure/stop the run to get them off schedule on 2nd and 3rd down.
re: No Bias - Can LSU?????
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/27/19 at 9:41 am to OsTiger78
What Auburn did really well was forcing us to finish drives in the red zone, which plays right into their hand because of how great their front 7 is and how the shortened field gives receivers less space to work with. The Bama game, imo, comes down to three things: which defense gets off the field more often on 3rd down, which defense does better at limiting explosive plays, and which offense gets 7 instead of 3 more often in the red zone.
re: How many points will it take to break the streak?
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/27/19 at 9:10 am to uway
I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that this game won’t be as high scoring as people think. Aranda and Saban are both getting two weeks to scheme for these offenses, and I think they will both start out with some defensive schemes that will slow down offensive production in the first quarter or so. That being said, I think the first team to 35 wins because after the first quarter both offense will react with an effective answer to the defenses

I'd say the first third down conversion Auburn gets on offense on their opening possession
re: Dave Aranda gameplan
Posted by Rick Stroker on 10/21/19 at 7:02 pm to J2thaROC
I think Shelvin/Ika are gonna be key these next two games if they can get push up the middle on drop back passes. Getting both Nix and Tua off their spot in the pocket will help our secondary a lot. With Nix he’ll be uncomfortable as a freshman and hopefully make some forced throws, and with Tua not at 100% on his ankle it’ll be tough for him to get everything into his throws with limited time
