Still getting it done despite being the only real WR threat and getting all the attention in the secondary.

Well, you can’t guard him.

Brees getting hurt is the best thing to ever happen to Thomas' legacy. He is not a system guy, he dominates regardless of the QB or the defense.

Also, glad we locked him up before the Brees injury.

Some people didn’t think we should pay him

I don't think it did a single thing for his legacy.

Many had him as the #1 WR in the league even with Brees.

Definitely makes me feel even better about paying him though. Even without elite qb play he’s been impossible to guard.

This is true.

I guess it's the way the poster worded, saying "it's the best thing to happen for his legacy"

When MT retires, I don't think anyone is going to be thinking about that 5 game stretch in his 3rd or whatever year without Brees.

Thomas is leading Godwin from Tampa Bay in 2nd spot by over 100 yds. He is leading Kupp in 2nd place by 11 rec.
Unreal.

What is crazy is Thomas isn't even half way done his 4th season, and he is already our 6th all-time leading receiver. He will pass Jimmy Graham and Danny Abramowicz in about 4 weeks to move into the top 4...IN YEAR 4!

I’ll admit, I wasn’t excited about paying him as much as the Saints did. Partially because I’ve seen what Brees has done with “average” receivers. Boy was I wrong. I don’t think any QB could make MT look better, but I believe he can make any QB look better.
