Are you for or against the death penalty?

It seems like the deterrence argument might carry some merit. The automatic appeals, though, to the Supreme Court seems to be costly.
I understand the history of an individual sentenced to death is under intense scrutiny. Reading levels, etc are generally factored in.
There’s been a renewed emphasis on protecting policemen in most states.
What do you say? I guess in extreme instances I’m pro-death penalty. What’s defined as “extreme”? Who knows. I’d say OKC, for instance, might be an act I’d deem fitting within my framework for the death penalty. That ones probably obvious, but it would help define the working parameters I would reference in support of the death penalty.

For. Kill em all. Let God sort em out.

For. Immediately, as in gallows built on the town square outside the courthouse, immediately.

Against. The criminal justice system is not reliable enough to entrust with the power of directly ending lives.

For, but in a more equal manner. A shitbag who can afford a competent lawyer should die same as as one who can't

Well, the firing squad might be extreme. Smoking the last cigarette. Too archaic.

Opposed. No faith in government or 12 jurors to always make the correct decision.

Incontrovertible evidence that they are guilty? Kill 'em deader than dead. And don't dawdle.

For States deciding of course.
And some cases are so horrific and such a slam dunk that those like Rader need to be put down.
Period.

For. Death row should never be over crowded.
One moves in, one bites the dust.

Against. Government shouldn’t be in charge of deciding when/how people die, with the exception of enemy combatants.
How many death penalties has the Innocence Project had overturned?

Against.
Better a guilty man walk then an innocent swing.
Besides, are you really sure that the government that has trouble with balancing a check book or taking out your trash can perfectly determine guilt, every time in a death penalty case?

As Ron White said, do what Texas did... put in an express lane.

The problem is that every prosecutor will tell you they have this in every capital case. Otherwise they wouldnt be pressing the case, right?
