This thread made me remember the penalty that frustrates me the most. Intentional grounding is a spot foul with a loss of down. It should be a spot foul plus an additional 5 yards. What is the deterrent to throwing the ball away if it's the exact same result except you avoid taking a hit and possibly fumbling? Now, I know that this will never be changed because it helps keep QBs protected, but it still doesn't make any sense from a gameplay standpoint.

Huh? Roughing the passer is a penalty on the defense, personal foul automatic first down.
