We don’t have a bunch of first round talent on defense that’s the entire point. We have a couple of secondary guys, one is a freshman and that’s it. No front 7 players are going in the first round. And no a coordinator doesn’t decide who starts, head coaches are in charge of all personnel. This fantasy that coordinators override head coaches on who plays began here on the Rant and was invented to protect Les Miles back in the day but it is 100% fantasy. Coordinators call the games and have large input on gameplans they don’t decide who plays and who doesn’t.

IF that is the case a good coach schemes around it. Maybe you need to re-read my post if you didn't understand that.

Coach O probably gets together with Aranda to discuss who starts on D but substitutions during the game have to be made by Aranda. No way Orgeron is standing there micro managing that when he has a 2.5 mill DC. But what does that matter any way? It s not like we have some superstar waiting on the bench who is not getting PT or that we have a Welter starting over a Beckwith.
