I’ve wanted to do blackface just to surprise some people. I looked it up and learned that they used burnt cork and olive oil to do it Al Jolson style. Nobody can fire me and I might do it just because I can. I could give two shites about social backlash.

After reading the OP, I went and did a little research on Colonel Reb. Possible inspiration for Colonel Reb was James “Blind Jim” Ivy who was an Ole Miss SUPER FAN starting in 1896 as a peanut salesman during the games. I never once heard this story until today and found it pretty interesting. Apologies if old news LINK
