So will it take 45+ points to beat Bama

This game will be back and forth with two prolific offenses. Curious what the over/under will be, but it seems we will need to score 45 points to win that game.

45 with a couple turnovers on defense should do.

Honestly, I bet it takes 50 this year. Both offenses are top tier elite. Both defenses are a notch below their past glory. I see the game going up and down the field, a lot like the first half of this Florida game. Ball security will be at a premium, and neither team will be able to afford more than one or two drives that don't result in touchdowns. That game this year might set every major offensive record for the LSU/Alabama series historically.

Bama can’t stop the run at all. Don’t be shocked if our running backs get a workout for this game to chew up the clock, especially in the first half. I could see this happening and relying on our DBs to get a pick or two to give us the advantage.

I know this is obvious, but our defense will have to get off the field on 3rd down going forward for us to win. We can't continue to get into shootouts. all starts with rushing the passer.

College football has rapidly moved from a "full court press" approach to a "fast break" style. As long as fast-break dominates, it is the only way to go.

Hoping a high profile game such as this would put the word out to make sure it's clean. IIRC a lot of teams made complaints to the SEC about the officiating last year.

Yep, it looks like we'll simply have to outscore tGumps.

Also obvious...the rushing just 3 and laying back against Tua will be suicide.

Bama might score 60 before Aranda adjust

LSU drops triple digits on Alabama.

Have to go man to man, blitz and put pressure, hold the slants to a minimum and take your chances with them hitting 3 or 4 long ones. Tua is only a bit over 40% on deep balls. It’s the short slants they do 80% of the time that they catch on a dead run with tons of RAC afterwards that kills you. 3-4 deep balls, a drive or two otherwise and that puts them at 35-42 points. We can out duel them in a shootout game. Crack back against those slants and drags all game long and there’s a good chance we come out with the W.

Just have to build a lead large enough to take the refs out of it. As usual will need to beat both teams.

We never adjusted vs Texas they scored 38.
With Florida we gave up 28 points before we adjusted.
I would assume Bama scores more than 28 before we adjust.

It's probably going to take 50 to win and us winning the turnover battle. Our best option is to try to be balanced and control time of possession. Bama scores so many times on quick slants and other short routes. We have to limit those big plays and frustrate them by tackling well and driving the length of the field. None of their opponents have been able to do that. If we win, I'm sure we'll see a rematch because they are getting in the playoffs either way.

So what your saying is if we beat them, they will still get in but if they beat us we aren’t? If this is what your saying, I agree wholeheartedly with you. The Bama bias is real.
