They had a few top end players that probably skewed the numbers but overall they were pretty bad.

Nah. They were in the 247's Top 20 classes for 5 years until Chip showed up. Their 2015 and 2016 classes, which should be leading this team, were legit. They just didn't do anything with it. Not good enough classes to compete nationally but more than enough to be in the middle of the Pac-12, which they can't even do.

True, but they won 4 and 5 games the two years before he got here. No matter the rankings they were not good at all.

I wouldn’t say 4 years. The AD just announced he’s leaving in June.
Anytime a new guy comes in all bets are off. I’d say if he doesn’t show significant improvement after next year he will be gone.

He was a lazy recruiter at Oregon that got it done via bagmen/nike.
He was also the OC before getting the head coaching gig so his offense was already being built when he took over. He had the talent in place for what he wanted to do.

One of my good friends is a sports agent. He used to tell me Oregon had a bad problem with steroids when Chip Kelley was there. I'm not certain its true but that is what he told me.
