How could that be true? I thought he couldn't practice while serving in Congress. That is what he told all of us at least...

This is why idiots keep being elected in Louisiana. Voters here have to be the most gullible people in the country. They literally believe anything they hear without investigating a thing. He made the pledge in his first election that he would donate his congressional salary to St. Jude's and veterans support groups. He planned to continue practicing medicine part-time and keep his local clinics open with partners, etc. and live on that income. He was notified that making a profit off of private business enterprises such as his medical practice were not allowed for congressional members. He still fulfilled the promise for his first 2 years where he donated his entire congressional salary. He did not publicly make the same promise for future elections although they claim it was still quoted on his website site for sometime before removed. He has since donated profits from the medical practice and personally. St. Jude's representatives and different veterans groups have stated publicly that he and his wife have donated "tens of thousands of dollars" annually" every year he has served. He volunteers his time flying veterans (including the neighbor i grew up next door to) to receive cancer treatments in Houston and New Orleans free of charge. This information has been clearly reported and people still parrot the same misleading points.

He can practice medicine, and he still is part time pro-bono, but just can't profit from doing so.
The level of willful ignorance on this board is unreal.

Once again you thought wrong. Abraham "retired" after he got elected. However, that does not mean that he gave up his medical license. I had a sinus infection in August of 2015 and I went to his he clinic. Congress was in recess and the doctor that had taken over his clinic had taken the week off and Abraham was covering. He can still practice medicine whenever his schedule allows it as long as he keeps his license current.
Rispone will not be able to keep running his business if he gets elected (just like Trump was not able to keep running the Trump Organization after he got elected). Since Rispone is "in it to win it" then he has declared that he is a career politician using your definition of a career politician.
