This fan base is INSANELY hard on Teddy

He's 2-0. And he beat two teams Drew has had a really hard time with.

Who’s being hard on Teddy?
Posted on 10/1/19 at 10:58 pm to anzalone21
We won in spite of him not because of him. Not hard on him but he’s a good backup QB. It is what it is.

They paid him a lot of money for this exact possible scenario. He’s a BACKUP, and he has delivered.
2-0...I think it’s pretty clear that he isn’t a starting QB, but he has done his job well. Personally, I’m a big fan. Hope he’s the Saints backup for a decade.

This makes absolutely zero fricking sense.

People are dumb about expectations, and don’t take the fringe extremist opinions on this board to be the average fan sentiment.
Backup QBs can potentially be a dumpster fire - if the QB turns out to be serviceable, you should consider yourself somewhat lucky - and Bridgewater has been exactly that. Saints fans have (like many even before we signed him) been sucked in by Bridgwater media hype machine, and since we are paying him a premium backup QB salary people expect the Brees dropoff to be not as dramatic as it is.
This week will be a good indicator of what his ceiling is - if he can win a shootout type game against a mediocre secondary, the haters will be forced to waste their internet energy elsewhere.

Exactly what I'm thinking bud.

I think Bridgewater is a good guy and a decent backup, but saying he’s 2-0 as a starter is almost faint praise. Who was the quarterback in the loss to the Rams? Brees threw fives passes; Bridgewater threw thirty. He didn’t start, but Teddy B. was the quarterback during the Rams’ game. How many points have the Saints scored with him under center? That is the main concern moving forward, unless the defense and special teams continue to lead the way.

Well you have to consider that the backup QB isn't getting nearly as many reps as the starter
He's still 2-0 as a starter where he had the opportunity to prepare for the game with all the other starters

how is that the main concern when we keep winning games.
you do realize drew ran this offense for 15 years
they have to wear wristbands now man, cause drew did everything.
You know how hard it is to come into an offense like that and even do what teddy is doing with time to prepare.
people need to be happy we are 2-0 and give him a break

Granted, if the Saints continue to win, then scoring would not be an issue; however, I doubt winning games is sustainable if the offense continues to score at their current pace, which is the reason I mentioned defense and special teams. In the last three games, the offense has scored 9, 19, and 12 points. Do I care how the Saints win? No, but it seems implausible that 13.3 points per game shall continue to get it done. That, to me, is an area of concern.

No.....he didn't win.. The team won. He kinda helped

It's like do you guys watch the game or not? You can tell that he isn't that good.. You can tell that the defense won the game so how hard is it to figure out that he's a fricking liability

How bad would teddys suckage have hurt Michael Thomas contract negotiations if he has waited until this offseason to extend?
It would be obvious that Drew makes him 10 fold better.
