Clemson goes undefeated.

LSU is a one loss team to either Auburn or Bama. Meaning that they have beaten Texas, Auburn or Bama, Florida, AM, and all those teams hang around the top 10 (save AM). We beat AM by 21 (common opponent).

Who do you think the committee SHOULD put in?

Who do you think they WOULD put in?

Undefeated Clemson should and would go ahead of 1-loss LSU.

Undefeated Clemson would not miss the playoffs under any circumstance.

How do you know who the best 4 teams are?

Opinions?

I thought we were trying to get away from opinion polling to determine the champions. If you use polls at all, you may as well just go back to the old way of having the champions determined by a vote of who people think is better.

An undefeated Clemson would never, under any circumstances, be left out of the playoffs.

Agreed on would. Disagree with the should. We'd by far have the better resume, and Clemson's offense is struggling greatly right now. Although, I have no doubt Clemson will get rolling eventually and start blowing these shitty ACC teams out.

Remember when Notre Dame got in the playoff last year but Ohio State and UGA were left out...

Yeah at the end of the year we know who the best 4 teams are and that is what the playoff is for. It puts the best 4 teams against one another to determine the champion. That didn't happen last year and most likely wont happen this year either

No we don't, we all have OPINIONS on who the best 4 teams are.

In a tournament of champions, Notre Dame would either have to join a conference, or choose not to participate in a playoff.

You're making my argument for me. Leaving the choice up to pollsters/coaching assistants/secret societies/arcane computer programs will never be a fair system.

If you're not the best team in your conference, how can you be considered the best team in the country?

UGA vs ND this year proved my point about last years 4 playoff teams not being the best 4 teams in the country. Which is what the playoff is for. How is this so difficult for you people

Come on man an undefeated defending national champion would ever be left out and they shouldn’t be. I say they shouldn’t be because they have proven time and time again that they belong in the playoffs.

Well, Clemson would still be the reigning national champion and undefeated, and a conference champion. so I think they would and should go.

he's right though, contrary to conspiracy theorists the playoff committee does not go off ratings potential and b by you listing Clemson shows you really don't know what you talking about. If Clemson is a ratings draw its because they are good

Do you even hear yourself? This years game proves nothing about LAST year. Best is subjective. Notre Dame was undefeated last year, they should have been in the playoffs. If you want to quibble, maybe you could make a case for UGA over OU.

They reward conference champs as they should
Now if Clemson drops a game you could make argument a 2 loss SEC team like Auburn or LSU might have a shot.

UCF was undefeated as well. Thats not how it works my friend. BEST 4 teams should be in the playoff.

Bigger question is why does Alabama get in even with one loss no matter what?
